Had a huge rain/thunderstorm yesterday.
Our gauge showed 2.87 inches in about 1 1/2-2 hrs.
We were downtown and watched rain like I've never seen, you couldn't even call it a frog strangler it was so heavy, with small hail.

My Carolina reaper plant got pummeled, tomatoes had a shade cover so they survived.
We are trying to vacuum up the water in the basement and get the fans going to dry out some wet spots.
One time I wish we did not have a basement.
Didn't lose anything of value to the flooding but found some old kids books from my son we saved.
What a pain but we're lucky, the rain was sorely needed.
Water was flowing across all the roads and manhole covers were fountains all over town.

Looks like it moved up through the ranch so hopefully it got rain without flash flooding. The Canyon drive may be interesting today to go check. Pretty sure Highway 230 west of town had some debris flow from one of the wildfires a couple of year ago.

Hoping you all get some rain relief without dealing with flash flooding.

Shop vac is working overtime this morning before we head up to the ranch.

Interestingly, found a brand new in the box 870 Express lam. shotgun we won at a NWTF banquet in a closet that got a little wet. Completely forgot about it.
Might have some trade bait for the next gun show.

Humid today and more rain coming they are saying, might be hard to dry out. We need a nice dry day now dang it.

We have been getting a bunch of those every afternoon here in SE Idaho. Really small and spotty, but if youre under it, watch out!!! You can just watch them roll across the desert and flood everything under it. At least they move on by quickly.

Thought it was just us getting these spot thunderstorms. We got around 0.5" of rain last week, but I could tell it was way heaver towards town. Drove HY-80 into Longview and there were downed trees in the first neighborhood I came to. I am talking 3 foot diameter huge oak trees. The were thrown in every direction and the apartment complex next door was missing siding, roofing and had big holes in the side. National Weather Service came and investigates and said not tornado, must a big downburst. The estimated the wind speed at 105 MPH.
Hope you get the flooding taken care of.

Glad you got a bunch of rain up I bet it would have been a lot nicer if that would have come down over a two day period.

Just watched the news about yesterdays bad rain. 3.25" in an hour up north. Flash flooding destroyed roads and crops, the temps dropped from 86 to 50, and Sheriffs Dept rescued 15 floaters off the river and treated for cold exposure! Wow.

Built a fire in the wood stove to help dry out downstairs, thankfully it is only 56 degrees right now. Problem is all the wood is wet now too.

Blank are you all pretty dry before this or doing well for late summer?

Honestly, I'd take flash flooding at this point. South TX is getting a good soaking but it has all but missed us again with only about 3/10" so far.
It is better than nothing but is not going to help. My pastures look like the middle of winter right now and I'm starting to see a lot of trees turning brown and losing leaves. NOT good.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Yep. I'd happily trade with Wytex right now. We got .02". Yep, 2/100 of an inch registered on our digital rain gauge since May.

Talked with my Mom this morning in Grapevine, she said the little rain they got didn't help at all.

Mountains are getting it too so maybe hunting season won't have fire restrictions.

We went about a solid month without any rain at all. Now we get those little afternoon showers, but they have more lightning in them also. I was up scouting for a couple moose hunters two weeks ago, and everything is still nice and green. Creeks are about half of normal, but still flowing. My buddy's ranch pond is down 4 feet, but still almost half full, so I think things are OK
