Is it really $100-$200k to become a teacher? That seems exaggerated. Precious daddy's girls goes to SMU and joins the sorority. Works toward a bachelor's and later decides to teach second grade, and make no money. I went to high school with several of that type story in the late 90's.

The real problem is one that can’t be fixed by legislation, or policy, or even corporal punishment. When the family unit breaks down and God is left out of the equation, you can only slow down the inevitable. 100%

Is it really $100-$200k to become a teacher? That seems exaggerated. I guess I could be.....I went to SFA and graduated with 24k of debt and then got teacher certified my first year teaching. If you pay 200k for a teaching degree, you need some planning assistance..

If you pay 200k for a teaching degree, you need some planning assistance.. My point is….lets be realistic. $100-200k is NOT what is required to become a teacher making $45k. They make more than that and it costs far less to become a certified teacher. There are exceptions to everything like the SMU example but lets also be realistic….girls that go to SMU for a teaching degree arent really there for that, they are there because daddy is paying the bill or they are looking for their ticket. As someone who has actually paid for 6yrs of undergrad and grad school, all of that being private, to employ someone that works for a school district, I can assure you the $200k debt making $45k is the exception, not the norm.
