Looking for ideas on building something that I can mount my camera and solar panel onto. Being able to make it mobile to where I can move it around when needed would be great. Was thinking a t-post, a pole or 2x4 in a 5 gallon bucket filled with cement. Any of you guys make your own or have some ideas please post up?

I built a simple tripod that I saw on YouTube. 1/2" pipe electrical conduit, ends crimped and bent with a bench vise, hole drilled through each end - top for a bolt for the camera, bottoms for spikes into the ground. It is low, so you may want to build higher, and spiking down in South Texas sand might be challenging. 'Guess you could mount your solar panel to one leg. Mine has been out in the pasture for a couple of years and seems to work fine. I need to build a second one.

Being in the Pineywoods, I’ve taken a camera and mounted on to a plastic ammo box and mounted the solar panel onto it with a backup feeder battery on the inside. Keeps all the wires in the box so no coons or anything can rip them off (happens all the time on feeders too). Ratchet strap for mounting to trees, blind legs, etc

I use these. They are inexpensive on Ebay, easy to use and work on T-posts. These guys sell several variations that give more articulation if needed too. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/11/full-54248-368980-screenshot_20221106_184722_ebay.jpg)

Some time back, we discovered this product which has a variety of uses. Attaching cameras is just one of them. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/11/full-66255-369438-a.jpg)

You buy good wire and you can use it over and over again. Buy good gorilla tape, use it once and then it is done done.

Anything to deter cattle? Seems like they inevitably find my camera and use it as a scratching post

Cattle can be a real problem. Mounting them inside a feeder pen in the best solution for that but otherwise you may need to build a wall around in.

I actually like these. Side benefit is it would keep you from ever mounting a camera upside down.
