With the super dry conditions would it do any good to put a water station at my feeder pen?

It will if you don't already have a water source near by.

I’ve got them in mine. Down to two tanks, so makes it easier for the deer to get a drink.

Ive got one next to my Protein feeder and the deer are going through 100+ gallons a week and 1000lbs of protein in 3 weeks. They are loving the double down.

I have wondered the same . I know they would drink if you brought the water to them but would it increase the number of visits to the feeder ?

To be determined

There’s a creek that’s usually dry even when not in drought that has a deep pocket that usually holds water But it has to be bone dry rn if I had to guess . That is the only water source in the immediate area that I’m aware of .

We have several guys on our lease who believe in this. I am not one of them, but the others are likely smarter than me.

Water, by far, is my number one attractant and has been for years. Even in wet years water brings in deer...I recommend it. When you bring in water the deer are slow to use it but it won't take long ..they will drink!

I put 2 large tubs in the brush. Set up another game cam on the water. Saw several new bucks on it. I hauled water every 3 days during the drought. To me it paid off big time. Was thinking they preferred fresh water over creek water but that is just a guess.

I’d recommend buying a product called stock tank defense. It comes in tablets and keeps the water clear.

I live a 1/4 mile off a river and have a feeder with water trough in the field. The deer water at it regularly. Takes a bit to get used to but the deer at the ranch use the water in our feed pens quite a bit.

I'll be hauling four 30 gallon plastic barrels full of water to the ranch this weekend. We have water guzzlers built that catch rain water into a 55 gallon plastic barrel that feeds water through a 10' garden hose into a small round plastic container with a "float" attached to it. Of course, we have not had any decent rain since the beginning of May in South Texas so the animals are really drinking the water. I have been pouring the water out of the barrels onto the tin roof which drains down the gutters into the barrel. All the critters enjoy this water. All are water guzzlers are fenced in with hog panels to keep out hogs.

out at my Ozona place, I suspect all the caliche pits have been dry for over a month now. There are solar wells with troughs for livestock about every mile or so around the ranch and once the caliche pits dry up, those troughs get lots of traffic. Maybe some of the coons relocated to those wells ... LOL
