Seems like residential appliances across the board is hit and miss. Have to step up to commercial names if you want consistency This.

when we built our home (1999) the builder used GE for all appliances. We have replaced the fridge (18 years) and dishwasher (12 years) and went back with GE without any issues since other than ice maker (warranty covered). We looked at a variety of other makes & models before we settled back on GE. Our electric oven (GE also) had issues that could have been fixed but the fan was extremely noisy, and we replaced it with Electrolux and moved up to double oven (what I wanted from the start but budget caused only single at the time).
we have an upright Kenmore freezer that is about 40 years old that works great. Had some issues with it a few years back but the technician said he could fix it and it should last a lot longer ... his statement was "fix it, they don't build them like this any more and the repair will likely last much longer than buying a new one".

Not all Kenmore branded appliances are Whirlpool. I am not certain GE manufacturers anything now.
If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Good friend of mine owns a Maytag store and he says that hands down the best out there is Sub Zero. But those things are major bucks.

Check out:
* Gaggenau * Miele * Subzero * Thermador
* Viking
I have a Viking and a couple family members have Subzeroes. All great. A friend has Thermador and Miele. Again, great. Gaggenau is another on the same level in the first group of four, but I have not had one nor do I know anybody who has. Viking may be considered a step down from the others.

I agree that SubZero is the best, but you can mark it off the list unless you wanna spend $12k+.

GE appliances is 90% owned Haer.Haer owns the GE appliance name until 2056. I have seen GE window units were appeared to be rebranded inports with no repair parts available. Based my comment on this.

Guess I got the only Samsung which is a great one. 11 years old, nary a problem. Just keep the filter changed as stated, every 6 months.

Lives in my hot garage. Only part I’ve replaced is the ice maker, which turned out didn’t need to be, and the little heating element that thaws frost. Think it was $20. Bought a new one because wife said it wasn’t cool anymore.

Not all Kenmore branded appliances are Whirlpool. I am not certain GE manufacturers anything now. Kenmore contracts out to the lowest bidder. Not sure how often they redo the contract. Is Sears/Kenmore still in business?

We just bought a new 28 cu. Ft. Maytag. I don’t know how well it will last but it is laid out great and I have not found anything I don’t like. Having said that our 20 year old Kenmore was still going strong. We gave it to my cousin.

Just bought a Whirlpool side-by-side after our Kenmore started acting up after 18 years. Next day delivery from Loews.
As others have said, Samsung seems to have a terrible reputation based on my findings before going with this Whirlpool model. Hopefully, it'll last at least as long as the Kenmore.
The worst part of replacing a refrigerator always seems to be making sure the water supply valve doesn't drip after being undisturbed for so many years. Thankfully, a little tightening of the valve stem cap did the trick.

Had an old timer appliance guy come to check on my fridge awhile back. I thought I was gng to be shelling out for a new fridge because I hadnt pony’ed up for the Samsung or LG 12yrs ago when we bought this “cheapo” Fridgeair. He replaced the $30 part to get it back working and let me know my Fridgeair will be just fine for more years to come and to NEVER buy Samsung or LG. He said 9/10 calls a day he gets are for broken Samsung and LGs. Definitely not a case in which you get what you pay for.

We have a 1 year old Frigidaire, it was $3500 new and has quit making ice. Needless to say it’s a POS.

We replaced all of our appliances at same time with a full Samsung suite. French door fridge, washer, dryer, dish washer, range, and microwave.
So far we’ve had to have service guy out to replace LEDs in fridge, the dishwasher just quit working and I looked up the code and it was the moisture sensor which I had to take the entire dishwasher out and take the entire bottom off and clean a tiny little bit of condensation around the sensor and reinstall it. Then it worked again. Dryer quit getting hot so figured it was heating element. So went on Amazon and got a full repair kit for it. I had just did my mother in laws heating element on an older one. All you had to do was take the back off replace it and took all of 10 minutes. With the Samsung hahaha yea right after getting started and watching a YouTube video I had to strip the entire dryer down even take the tub out and belts. Then replace all the parts and getting that thing back together I felt like I needed a damn engineering degree. But it did fix it and it seems to dry better than new now. The microwave lcd screen has started to go out.
Only think I like really is the range, I’ve had no problems with it.
I’ll never ever buy another Samsung product. My tv is a 65” Samsung and it is sooooo laggy compared to some other TVs I’ve used.

And whats crazy is that Samsung and LG dominate the digital signage market. Almost every drive-thru sign or digital display in a commercial setting is either a Samsung or LG.
