I was in Sadler yesterday and wanted to "try" the little BBQ place there. I explained to them that my FIL loves BBQ and I am always looking for new place to try so the family can go to have a meal. It was just after I had eaten and was not that hungry so I ordered one slice of brisket, one sausage ring, and a slice of bread. They said the only way they sold the brisket was by the 1/2 pound or on a plate. It was $10.50 for a half of pound plus extra for the sausage and bread and $14.00 for the plate plus the extra for the sausage. I said okay give me the plate and sausage but I wanted to eat it at one of the tables that was propped. They said that it was take out only and that was why the wooden picnic tables were propped up. Did a big pass on the whole deal in that it did not seem that they were needing the business.

Sounds like you made a wise decision.

I bet during COVID they started liking the idea of not having to either bring food outside or cleaning up out there after folks they left.

I am fed up with how Covid was a great excuse for so many lazy people to experiment with what customers, of anything, will accept.

A while back, Wifeypoo served on the Comal County grand jury. That first day, they kept her to about 6 PM. She came home mentally and emotionally beat down. She hugged me and wanted me to promise her I would never go to Canyon Lake again.

We have a place up there on the river and usually get bbq there a few times per year. It is actually pretty good, usually a line. There is also one just down 2673 from there in Startzville that is excellent, called Bare Bull that we tried the other day and it was pretty good also.
