In my backyard doing some bird work with the new pudelpointer puppy tonight. He is intense on point and I have been shooting some for him. Has a nice soft mouth. I think we are where we need to be on pigeons. Liking the intensity and digging the flat tail. Head up in the wind and pointing from distance and I’m liking it. Atta boy Moon. Wild bird season can’t get here fast enough for the real education to start….

I like those dogs, my friend from Mississippi breeds them. He hunted with us in S Texas and they did pretty well. They are good all around dogs and great retrievers.

Yes. Not many here know much about them, much less hunt them. I split my time between upland, ducks, geese, doves, and some tracking work. They are a good fit for what I do. I have another one that will be 7 this hunting season. The pup is the young one in the wings as the one currently in his prime ages.

Nice! I like the breed. Good all around dog. I may own one after my 2 cockers retire.
