I used to be a big fan, mainly cuz it was my primary sport to play back in the day. I ended up playing in college, but I wish I would have stuck with baseball. Anyhoo, after all the woke BS I went from occasionally watching the Rockets and Mavs to never. I do still get into NCAA March Madness tho.

I am a big NBA fan. IMO, greatest athletes on earth. Do I agree with the politics and mindset, I do not. I approach all sports and athletes with the notion that they are no more than fish in a fishbowl. Look at, be entertained, enjoy what they offer in its most simplistic form and walk away with out further consideration.

Thug Ball, they strut down the court because they made a basket. Try that in baseball and see what happens to the next batter

I don't know who Bill Russell is and I've never watched more than a few seconds of NBA. Watching paint dry is more entertaining to me. Basketball guys are sofT.

High School football is about to start. That's about the only sport I get excited for nowadays.

"Basketball guys are sofT." I have found broad, blanket statements akin to this one as being indicative of over confidence which has led people into trouble in the past. Always appreciated any type of confrontation, competition, show of force and/or whatever from anyone who discounted what I could bring anywhere/anytime. It brings warm me some warm fuzzies just thinking about it.

I coached at the collegiate level for 6 years and I assure you you couldn't be soft and last long. Some of the toughest kids, both mentally and physically I have ever been around played basketball. Just a dumb comment. I know plenty of football players that were soft when I played in high school.

Just like racing now. Back in the day if you played the dumbazz and tried blocking guys like Earnhardt your azz went into the wall fast!! I cannot stand to watch it anymore!!

nice to blanket a statement and then only act as if it applies to a very top tier.

There’s been plenty of tough guys that have played the game. Of course you’d know that if you watched more than a few seconds of the game. Different strokes for different folks though. Anthony mason, Charles Oakley, Xavier McDaniel, Rasheed Wallace, Kenyon Martin, Bill Lambeer as well as many more were well known for their physical style play and intimidated many. Hell Larry Bird was a badass. He’d talk sh** to you and he would fight you if it came to that.

Football is obviously more physical, but it’s easy to be a tough guy when you’re wearing pads and a helmet. Not that the guys you mentioned weren’t tough, but those pads give a lot of people more confidence than they would normally have without them

Basketball now is akin to soccer. It is very soft and the style of play now is terrible. Get the ball, shoot a 3. Rebound run down the court, shoot another 3. Breath on the ball handler wrong and it’s a foul. There’s no more physicality to the game. So like you, nowadays I’d rather watch paint dry. I only watch college during tournament time.

Jerry Rice would out work everyone on that list, with that said. A cage match between Ray Lewis and Hershel Walker would be interesting, even with age difference
