For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

The majority of my fishing is solo, but I’m also on the road a ton and keep gear under the back seat and pop out for a couple/few hours here and there when I can

Hate fishing alone. I like to have someone to talk to. I get plenty of solitude living on the ranch. Fortunately my wife likes to fish, and she's pretty good.

Love it out early morning by myself. Peaceful and quiet. This. Although I do love fishing with my two boys, however, I don't get to fish much when they come out.

Same here. Seems like one of the only places I can really clear my head. Along with a deer stand….

I do, get there when I want to, leave when ready and can fish as fast or slow as needed. If the wife wants to go, then everything changes to suit her type of fishing. She only wants to go once in a blue moon so I make time for that rare occasion.

I’ve fished all my life. Got serious about it in the 70s. My best fishing buddies either died or quit fishing. But I’ve always enjoyed the loner path.
Nothing like being on a lake at daybreak, all by yourself, knowing where they are and what to throw.

I fish alone every weekend, and I like it that way. Same with hunting/camping. Same with snow skiing. Same with riding my bike (every day). Same with eating out, I love curling up to a sports bar, ordering a drink and rack of ribs....As a young man, I traveled the world for 4 years by myself..
My wife/daughter/son, always have an invite to hunting/fish with me, it is not often they want to. I do like to hunt and fish with friends, just not every weekend, like maybe a few times a year is enough.
I do not like to hunt without my dog though.

I like to have guests out to share my little puddle. I feed the brim & tilapia and they feed the bass. Hard as I fish the crappie they always seem to keep their numbers up.

Im surprised so many say solo. I thought I was the rare bird. I dont fish much but I like to do most everything by myself. Sat at McAllisters today by myself and got asked 9 times if I needed a tea refill or anything. Drove me crazy. Just leave me "alone" (with my thoughts). Its enjoyable to have other like minded people at deer camp but I enjoy it more solo. I almost always drive to deer lease alone. Later in life I figured out why I like to be alone. Its because my favorite thing to do is think. I love to invent the better mouse trap in my head. Its why I have trouble sleeping-always got a racing mind, trying to figure out the next project.
At some point in life its time to quit chasing the pot of gold and just enjoy the rainbow. FR Keep your gratitude higher than your expectations. RWH

I like to fish alone or with a good friend, doesn't matter. It's easier to launch the boat with a buddy.
When the wife goes she just reads her ipad. I asked the game warden if she needed a fishing license, he said not if she's not fishing. I told him if I was a better fisherman and needed her creel limit I'd buy her one, no problem...he just laughed.

Same here. Seems like one of the only places I can really clear my head. Along with a deer stand…. Yessr. Nothing like wading solo on a calm morning at first light, nice & quiet working a top water lure, then to see the big yellow mouth of a trout or a nice redfish smash that lure. The sound and feel of the line peeling off my reel. Have also spent many a days alone at deer camp and in the stand, as much as I love taking my kids sometimes I enjoy the solitude.
