Ten or more years ago, before steel became a precious metal, I bought some odd sizes AR400 1/2" plate from a vender who had some left from a big job they had cut. It sat around the shop until I got around to building a snail bullet trap. Did a google search and found some plans that we modified to fit our needs and material sizes.

Earlier this year, we got it set up to shoot off the back deck. I was trying for 30' from firing line to target. Best level spot gave us 28' and we called it good. It's very relaxing to shoot a couple of magazines downrange a few evenings a week after work. I only shoot pistol cartridges at the trap. It's slightly downhill to the trap and then the ground rises behind the trap.

It's easy to get carried away and expend too much ammo. Friday evening, I fired 12 rounds of .357, 14 rounds of .45ACP, 10 rounds of .44 Special and 128 rounds of 9mm.
