Okay, so I've been an admirer for years. I would take serious Tango lessons if...my wife would let me lead! This chit is extremely serious business in Argentina, as you can see from the people sitting on the floor. Even the biggest Cretan among us has to admit that this is the most sexual dance there is. Robert Duval is allegedly obsessed with it. (See "Assassination Tango." Not a great movie, but interesting.) From the little I have watched, this "couple" (as with any really good dance couple, who knows if the guy is straight), is one the best I've seen. I'd walk her home.

Exactly. Why do you think it's so popular?

Creekrunner if you want to learn the Tango you will have to learn that there is a leader and a follower. The lady is the one who leads as she is the seducer and the male is the follower who responses to the lead. It takes a lot hours of practice to learn how to follow her lead so that the flow is there.
I was very fortunate to learn a little of it in Recife when I was in the Navy. I met a young lady that said the only way to love was through the dance. Four days of trials and frustration finally taught me that I was the stage and she was the performer or leader. The last three days in port I will remember forever. Have fun learning and enjoy as it can be the best dance you will ever learn.
Oh yes I am a redneck but do like some finer things of life.

My how far one can advance. From hanging out at McDonalds to obsessing about the tango.

This dance has always intrigued me, from an early age.
I'd love to tango with my girlfriend, but I suck at dancing. I two stepped with her at the Fredericksburg Crawfish Festival last weekend (in our flip flops), and I don't think she was impressed.
There are things that I'm good at, and there are things that I'm not good at.
Whatever. I play music, I don't dance.
Or at least I used to play music.
I never new inlanders in the hill country had crawfish festivals, that was cool.
First time hanging out in Fredericksburg, hotel for 2 nights. Was expensive, but fun.

I love this style of dancing too. The drum on the right, the Doumbek drum, I played for a year in a belly dancing band when I was 13. Played all over the Corpus area. Pretty sure that was the first time that rocket man went to the moon and stayed there for 24 hrs. Lord have mercy, some of those dancers were out of this world talented and I was a kid ready to become a man but couldn't.

That was a slower and more sensuous version than what I normally see, looked like a mating dance

It's a beautiful dance to watch, but I don't think I could ever do it. I don't have the coordination to make those types of moves.

When I go to Buenos Aires I usually check out the tango locations and often have dinner there. It is fun to watch.
Robert Duvall did that movie as a project with his Argentinian wife, Luciana Pedraza. Check her out. She's pretty cute.
To be determined

It's time. It looks like the band is live. Very well done. I like her.

Again, it's time. Beautiful place...and the kids know what they're doing. This is the tango at the beginning of "True Lies" - Por Una Cabeza. It's a gorgeous piece.
