I have about 30 that come in everyday about 4:30 pm. I just planted an acre of sesame mixed with millet. If it works out I may plant 60 acres in the fall for the season split.

To early for any reports, what you see now won’t be here in 3 months. The local birds that are here will leave after the first weekend.

I've been traveling w/ Work in W & NW Texas for the Last Month, Basically a Triangle from Ft.Worth to Wichita Falls down to Sweetwater and Back to Ft. Worth. Abilene area has the most birds in that Triangle, not as many as in the Good Years but a Lil better than '18-'21 Not really seeing many Sunflower Fields out in Triangle, but Throckmorton Co. has the Most. Hopefully we can get another hatch from the local birds before the Season Starts. If is continues to Stay Dry, Water Holes are going to be where its at...

I’ve been seeing more in the evenings, than the mornings.
A bigger indicator is after the cornfields have been cut, and it’s closer to season. I think most of the corn crop died early this year from lack of rain.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

You're right, the corn looks terrible. I've noticed the milo is maturing ealy too. And not a very good crop.

We’re usually shoulder deep in sunflowers here covering the shooting lanes but not a one this year. Only a few birds here and there.

Where we hunt in west Texas is getting good reports so far. Usually the case, but not always, so we're hopeful.

Anyone seeing many dove around the Wichita Falls area? Was out that way over the weekend and didnt see many dove or sunflowers or other crops. Most fields looked to be affected by the current drought. Had been hunting in the Iowa Park area the last few years and was pretty descent.

I have noticed a lot of white wings in the city, usually it is mourning dove. Hopeful for a good dove opener and season in general this year.
