Gonna eat there on Sunday instead of Menard. Any suggestions on best places to eat?

I’d say Peabody’s, but it was closed last time I passed through there. There’s a small Tex Mex place up the street north a little ways, on the other side of the street.

Just decided to eat in San Saba. Seems like most all places are closed on Sunday, but I found a well recommended Mexican place in San Saba that’ll be open.

You chose correctly. Peabody’s is out of business, La Hacienda is averagish, El Tapatio is open for lunch but is also averagish. Southside Tavern is evenings only and closed Sunday’s. Fisher Street Grill is not yet open, still ramping up.

I'm from there, spend 6-10 days a month there, and have no idea what he is talking about. The ones I know of are: Dairy Queen El Tapatio Mexican Food (mainly breakfast/lunch) La Hacienda Mexican Food Quick Check - burgers, chicken, Hunt Bros pizza (gas station) Southside Tavern - Wed-Sat, they claim 11-9 but that fluctuates and the beer will flow past 11pm. Some nights have live entertainment. Saturday is steak night and they are $$$ but very good Fisher St Bar & Grill (not yet open) Mary's Tacos & Burgers (mainly breakfast/lunch) There is a local BBQ trailer there most Saturdays, pretty good BBQ and prices. Triple B BBQ, follow on FB.
