Hey guys are any of you here an ffl dealer or can you recommend a good one to me? I live in Arlington but I'm willing to drive some for a good relationship. Specifically I'm looking for transfers, I'd like the ease of buying online and sending a text or email and let them know . I don't order alot online but would like to take advantage of sales from time to time. I do have a chl license.

Worst case scenario I can use the pawn shop a few miles away. They charge 20 bucks for a transfer but the place just seems kinda sketchy. Just wanted to ask here first. Thanks in advance.

If you are in South Arlington, then Marksmen Firearms in Mansfield is a good spot. They’ve always been very helpful for me.

Agree on pawn shop. Assuming everything else is ok.

Gunbroker has a search for a FFL near me function and their prices. It will also show if they have on file with Gunbroker. If so, they will automatically get an email when you buy something.

I've used Alpine Range a few times. Never a problem.

Thanks for the suggestions guys I'll look into them. Definitely going to look at that feature on gunbroker also. I'm a member at the range usa and they charge 75 for a transfer. I'll be danged if I ever use them.

Go with a close one. I used to waste time driving a half hour each way to a friend that did them for free. I checked the gunbroker list and found an FFL less than 5 minutes from me who works from home and is great to work with.

Disagree here. My FFL is super fast to communicate and ive always been able to pick up my gun the day it arrives. I just sent a rifle off to a guy’s FFL that that had a “check in” process that ended up taking 5 days before they said it was ready for pickup. Super annoying and not first Ive heard of this. The “check in” process probably means when they get to it and get tired of fondling your gun and letting all the regulars come do the same. Also heard of pawnshops snagging extras out of the box.

This 100%...I would never use a pawn shop.

YMMV
I have been using the same pawn shop in Decatur since the early 90’s and they have been outstanding on every transfer and sale I have used them for. Pawn Shops are like everything, there are good ones and bad ones.

I use TX Arms in Ft.Worth. They are a couple that run the business from their home and do gun shows. With you being in Arlington they are pretty close. They are in the South Hulen/Granbury Rd. area of Ft.Worth. Their communication is good and will answer any questions you have pretty quickly. When your item(s) arrive they will text you and let you know they are in. They will send you a link in the text to schedule an appointment to pick up your stuff. They charge $20 or $10 if you are current/retired military, first responder, or have LTC. I placed 2 orders from 2 different places and they both delivered on the same day. I had 8 transfer items between the orders and they were all put on one 4473 and they charged me $10 total. Took me about 15-20 min total for everything in and out. They are my go to FFL dealer now for all my transfers.
