So tried to whittle a lil bit of myself away yesterday with my safety razor. Resulting in stitches. So fun not. Time for a new razor that head don’t screw off of.

What caused it to be a Not-Safety razor? Got any razor pics. Inquiring minds need to know.

Do yourself a favor. Use one for two weeks, then throw it away.

I knick myself occasionally, but, ya gotta be some kinda drunk to need stitches. No pictures, please, but we do need a little more explanation as to the incident. Which "bit" off which "part" of yourself is missing exactly? Are you talkin' "safety razor" like the old, double-edged razor blade kind that open like wings in a space movie? Those things always scared me.

My youngest son goes to the ER every other week. Man up and quit worrying about it. If you aren’t bleeding to death or nothings broken it’s OK. That’s our criteria.

Was removing the head to change blade and when it released it popped and twisted removing chunks from two fingers. Cleaned and dressed wounds. Thought had bleeding stopped. Later changed dressings and kept seeping finally gave in and went to er hours after initial incident. Gonna buy a butterfly opening safety razor and move on. Rally like the shave. If I could figure out the straight razor I would give it a shot.

If you carved yourself up with a “safety” razor, maybe you don’t want to try a straight razor. But, if you do, get somebody to video it.

The last time I went to the Urgent Care I had cut two finger tips with a machete while cutting some weeds. I told the MD (and the nurse)what had happened.
While he was preparing to glue the tips back together, he asked what I did for a living.
I replied, "I'm a knife safety engineer."
He got it but the look on the nurse's face was priceless.

Double bladed disposable razors from Walmart or CVS, use for a couple weeks and toss. Can’t use all the fancy 3, 4 or 5 blade razors, they always caused ingrown hairs.

Only had to go to ER 2 times in my life. 1st was when I was 12 or so and tore my ankle up pretty good sliding into home plate. Caught my steel spikes under on the lip of the plate because they didn't have the dirt leveled up with it. 2nd was about 3 years ago changing my blades on my skag cheetah mower. slipped off the bolt and hit the edge of the blade. I usually glue up my cuts myself but this one was a tad more than I could get closed up myself. 27 outside and 7 inside stitches later I was good to go.
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!
