It is super dry. I live on 30 acres and have a 1 acre gravel parking lot we have set fireworks off of every year for the past 12 years with no issue. This evening something caught our neighbors field on fire. I know it was our fault as no one else was setting off fireworks near us. Thankfully three of the guests I had over are firefighters and we jumped the fence and got it put out with only an area about the size of a house burned but it could have been a lot worse.

Thankfully they banned the sale and use of them around here. We don't need anymore fires in Palo Pinto County, we've had enough already.

Fierce competition of fireworks stands by me. They're everywhere. bang

My son has had a pyrotechnics license for many years and always does the show at San Antonio Country Club. They don't allow us riff-raff in.

They say the prices on fireworks this year are crazy.
Maybe that will help keep it at a minimum.

Good Lord. Sounds like something more than Black Cats. I cannot imagine anything at the stand capable of that.

Not only fireworks, burn bans in most counties through out the state!
Crazy how Jack county stays out of the burn bans quite often when surrounding counties are in the ban?

Drunks with pyrotechnics, what could go wrong?

Our county judge is too much of a coward to ban them in Grayson County.

We usually shoot them off a metal dock out over the pond.

This year all the kids and grandkids have plans elsewhere. Sure miss them.

Wife and I won't be shooting any this year.

I’m conflicted about fireworks and the drought. I don’t want to be a Karen, but I don’t think this year is the year to go setting them off on the ground. Our city has banned them within the limits and I have never called before but not sure if the conditions warrant it. There’s already been multiple brush fires in the last few days from people doing it.

We watched the one in Carrollton last night. Spectacular. As for here at the ranch in Limestone County, you can shoot your mouth off, but that’s it.

Maybe one those black market M100s I use to get from a friend's brother in Ohio.

We are under a burn ban and also on watering restrictions. Saw one of our neighborhood idiots driving on the county road throwing smoke bombs out at folks walking the neighborhood. I expect there will be some wild fires in our county before the holiday is over.

We usually do a big show at our place in Navarro County. All mortars and big boxes tied together by canon fuse. We canceled this year because it is so dry. The back pond is almost gone, and the front pond doesn't look much better. I haven't seen it this dry in I can't even remember.

This is extremely misleading.

Our county, like many others, have a ban that is only effective when the DAILY Keetch-Byram Drought Index is above a certain level. For our county, its 575. Those numbers are published daily .

We are good to go for fireworks

That said, be extremally careful folks. Even if you live in a swamp, keep a buck of water and a shovel handy if your setting off firework.

Burn bans and fireworks bans in our area. But the idiots are still doing both.

We’re getting a nice rain in Young county right now. I’m not worried about the fireworks anymore.it still pisses me off to have to put the dogs up every night this time of year.
