Justin Gray of WSB-TV Atlanta released a disturbing video this week that shows an Atlanta VA clinic patient advocate pummeling a helpless Vietnam veteran.

The attacker, reported as Lawrence Gaillard, who appears to be still employed by the VA, is seen viciously beating 73-year-old Phillip Webb.

I've lost a lot of confidence in the V.A. over the past few years, hope I never really need them for something bad hope I just die quickly.

Outrageous that any elderly person is treated that way, especially our Veterans.

I have been dealing with the VA since I retired. Sometimes they are great but most times they suck. Folks if the Fed Govt cannot handle medical care for vets then how did anybody expect it to handle the entire nation under ObozoCare?

My neighbor, the good one, had been postponed by the VA for 2 years on his knee replacement. He got the surgery about 10 days ago. Other than the delay, during which he suffered badly, he said the surgery went well and care was good.

I have dealt with the VA since 1969 and with civilian health care providers during the same time frame. Both have their problems. But the only Doctors I ever wanted to knock the crap out of were 3 civilian providers.

Suffice thus happens but in the civilian world it does not make the news in the same way

My wife is going through the same thing. Not because of the VA but because mom emergency surgeries keep getting delayed.

That SOB who beat that old man need about 30 minutes of street justice.

I deal with the VA and have had good results. You have to take care of your own issues and follow up is on you. Any medical issue other than checkups and small stuff is with outside providers.

Have been involved with the VA medical service beginning in the early 60's, then it seemed that it was just a place to go to die, terrible, was staffed with rejects, completely left them and went out of service medical help, , tried again in 2002,,,A completely different experience, found them to be more caring and professional, as I advance in years I find them to be life savers, sure there are times when mistakes are made ( however, consider the VA size and numbers being treated), I try to visit the new Tyler facility when able, most of the advanced stuff to the Dallas main Hosp,,, they also now have the ability of allowing you to visit Drs and Hospitals out of service if it makes more sense. Please if you haven't at least tried them, give em a honest chance and then evaluate the service and results. OK now, "Smoke if you've got em"
