First truck I had was my dads old 1982 C10 and it had them, my best memories of those vents are as a kid going fishing with my grandfather after he retired and bobble heading trying to stay awake on the way home with the wind in my face from the vents roflmao

We use to say it was 440 AC ( 4 windows down going 40 mph) since that was one of the most popular big block engines!

Run down a crop road doing 40+ and meet up with a big wad of grasshoppers and you'll appreciate that little window aiming at your face a little less.

Believe that.

Ah ha I get it laugh

Most of them Olds were bigger heavier luxury cars with a 455 and were not faster than the typical Charger, Roadrunner etc with a 440.
Only one of the Olds I can think of with a 455 that might have been faster was that special Olds 442 with a 455 in it.

My dad had a 1970 or 71 Grand Prix with a 455 that was fast and the Potiac GTO with a 455 would probably get it!

I had a 1970 Olds 442 with the 455 engine. Brutally fast. 10 mpg. For some reason, it ate water pumps. Coulda been the mechanic, which was me. It was a good car, but everybody in the family preferred the 1967 Olds 442 that Mom had. We all loved that car.
