People using Airbnb and other websites to rent their rental properties by the day or hour. Nice having the equivalent of a cheesy motel right next door. It's something that's become a hot button in the area where I currently live.

Already have a Cuban family living down the street! Seen them throwing rocks at pigeons and them cooking in garage shortly after rock throwing party and they hang out in garage all day like possible a/c not in service. Like what else can I expect in Odessa!?

Brayden (Lazy L's Southern Comfort) you will be missed! You were more than a pet you were my reason to rise and return for many days! You were my rock!

A guy at work does this with apartments. He rents them and then sub-rents them and makes a ton of money. As long as no one finds out.

If you don't have neighbors right next door you don't have to worry about it. If the old man who owns the closest house to me rents it out I wouldn't care. It's a mile away.

Our HOA prohibits any short-term leases less than one year, and there’s a cap on the number of homes in the neighborhood that can be rented out (20% I think).

It's a great business model. I don't personally know anyone who does it, but I've read quite a bit about it.

Money in renting out pools too. I know a lady who built a nice pool house with last years profits.

When I was married to my ex and had a house in Richardson the house across the side street was a rental and had a pool.
It was rented by three teachers. They used to 'tutor' a number of high school aged guys.

Ours has a zero lease/rent policy. I just don’t see it be rampant to say the least

I've been told it's rather easy to find advertised listings in your subdivision by using the related apps. It's likely the somewhat constant stream of cars and people that catches the attention of neighbors, who then check the apps to see what's up.

Wife had a surgical procedure done and we rented a really nice house in Houston for a week. Was about 4000sq., fully stocked, great pool….much better than staying in a hotel room. Whole family was able to stay in comfort.

We will stay in Air BNB homes a few times a year during cheer comps and baseball tourneys

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I've never had any luck finding a rental. Looked several times for Cabo, NYC, and just last week for Chicago.

I took my family of 5 to Chicago last week and looked at Vrbo and Air BNB. After all the BS cleaning fees, booking/admin fees, and taxes, none of them made much financial sense to me. I booked 2 adjoining rooms at the Hyatt Centric Magnificent Mile for a total of ~$500 per night. That's a AAA rated 4-Diamond full service hotel in the best location in the city. None of the rentals I viewed could come close to the amenities, service, location, and price of the Hyatt. The one thing that would have been nice with a rental is a kitchen to at least save some money on going out for breakfast.

My youngest and her husband make good money renting out some properties on AirBNB, never that kinda short term though. Their one casita behind their house pays their mortgage.

The wife and I prefer a nice hotel, when we absolutely have to travel.
