Sure wish we could have got the truck to this big ole gal to weigh her. Based on several like her that I have weighed in the last 6 months I'll say she was 275 pretty easy, and quite possibly better than that. We killed her on the wet side of a running pivot in fresh planted cotton though, so no way we could get to her that night with the truck. Had to leave her a couple days and then carefully drive down the rows to get her out of my sons field. At that point no way I was going to try and lift her to weigh, the potential for very bad things was real after two days in the heat. For a sow she had really nice teeth. We generally don't have very good cutters on boars around here, and for sure not on sows. These are by far the best cutters I have ever seen on a sow out of our area. Neither side broke and they match. Good enough head that even after 2 days in the heat I got the courage up to cut her head off and bring it back for the skull. It was rocking the stench for sure, but I got it. Really interesting sow in several ways. She was big and in good body condition, but alone and very skittish. She rolled in pretty fast to get wet and get a drink but then was leaving real quick as soon as she finished. We had to stalk about 350 yards and barely got on her in time before she bailed out. The night we shot her I though she was probably pregnant but when I checked her a couple days later I'm not so sure. She may have been old and barren. When we went to stalk and shoot we assumed it was a lone boar and were surprised when we walked up and it was a sow because of her behavior. She was old and had very foundered feet from the sand around the river where she lived. All 4 hooves were bad, I'll post a picture of the worst. We had to shoot her between the drops on the pivot you can see them blowing in the wind. We stalked in on the dry side, she was on the wet side. Video: https://youtu.be/TXiWxsqB9LI

I don't think I have ever seen cutters like that on a sow. Are you sure there wasn't a set of nuts back there? Maybe a boar identifying as a sow.
