Flying down to pick up a vehicle around Matagorda. Probably highway miles wïll suck, so two days back home. Any recommendations on a good place to eat around Amarillo, , before heading up to Dalhart and Raton??

Coyote Bluff Cafe. Been eating there for 25 years and still some of the best burgers I have ever had! When I took my wife for the first time, she was skeptical due to it being "sketchy" looking, but the food is awesome.

For Mexican food, I really like The Plaza and Tacos Garcia.

I stay in Amarillo several nights per year. We regularly eat at Blue Sky Burgers, 575 Pizza, Yellow City Street Food, and Macaroni Joe's. If you have never eaten at the Big Texan, you should at least try it once. I don't eat at sit-down chains, but there's no shortage of those along I-40.
