Me and a buddy went out couple days ago to see if any hogs were in a cut wheatfield Pulled up and bout 20 hogs in middle of field. Walked up to about 100 yds of them and counted to 3 and shot and got couple When they took off thought we hit another one or two. Walked around and didn't find anymore.so Walked back to the 2 we dropped and a real small fawn stood no more than 10 yds from the dead hogs. Couldn't believe they got that close to the fawn and not smell him. Guess they really don't have. any odor when they are that little cause all the hogs were downwind of it. It layed back down so maybe mama came back later and got it

Those hogs would have ate that fawn.

I got on some fighting hogs a few years back in the brush, I heard them going at it like I had never heard before. When I got close I saw they were fighting over a fresh fawn ripping it into pieces and raising hell. I shot a couple of them and then checked out what was left of the fawn and it was definitely still warm and fresh.

Just like Jesus, sometimes you gotta kill some hogs.

Fawns are not without odor. Each fawn actually has a unique scent which is how the mother identifies it. https://deerassociation.com/5-common-myths-whitetail-fawns/ https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podca...e-into-fawn/id1571320690?i=1000557456650

The hogs certainly might have eaten the fawn, or they might not have. I have watched hogs be very close to raccoons, rabbits, squirrels without trying to eat them. Similarly, I have watched hogs walk by a feeder with corn on the ground and not stop and eat the corn. That doesn't mean that the hog could not see or smell the corn. Behavior does not always indicate capability.

Yep. I know that fawns have a scent that mama can detect just was surprised that hogs were that close and maybe they did detect it I don't know but I know 2 of them ain't gonna eat anythang anymore. Have lost couple bucks I shot then found the next morning and nothing left but the head was left and it wasn't coyotes that eat them cause there were hog roots and tracks around them

Nothing gives me more satisfaction than killing a feral hog.

In a heartbeat!

They are devastating to kid goats

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!
