I’ve seen a couple in my neighborhood. I’m sure many users on this forum will blast them simply because they are electric, but they are somewhat groundbreaking. They have good off-road capability, good towing capacity, and they’re fast. The problem comes down to battery life for any sort of longer trips. Real world test drives show them to last only 200 miles. They are also very expensive, I think at least $80,000.

What about pulling a trailer with the ATV/UTV???

Would love to have an EV 4x4 pickup for the lease, but I'm not about to shell out that kind of money for one. I think I've got about $4K in my Jeep and it works just fine for a deer camp vehicle.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

Seen a guy on tv said he almost gets 200 miles pulling his travel trailer but that’s doesn’t include traffic delays so I would guess 150 miles on a charge.

I would blast it for having a short range, little available charging places, slow time to charge, and cost to charge...as well as having a high up front cost. OK, yeah, I guess I am blasting it for being electric.

Pretty capable truck. Once they figure out how to extend the range to something more realistic I'd be interested.

Cant tow far. I am only talking 8000lb of towing, I want to travel more than 250 miles between HAVING to charge...there is a lot more work to be done on the EV side.
Hard pass.

Electric vehicles are a novel idea and it's definitely the way things are headed but they put the cart before the horse. The capacity and infrastructure is not there yet. Buddy of mine has a Tesla but the apartment complex he lives in has no charging stations and they will not allow them to be installed. He battles weekly to find a place to charge is car.

My daughter towed my fishing boat all the way to Florida with a Hybred. .

They are practical if you are a two vehicle family, but have a ways to go as a travel or towing vehicle. Plenty of torque to pull, but not enough range. I like EVs and the technology, but not the idea of anyone forcing them on us. A few years ago, I drove a Tesla Model 3 Performance and it was one of the coolest cars I have ever driven. If they continue to improve range and get a towing vehicle up to about 1200 miles, that will be functional for most people. Towing something like a big boat looks to cut the range in half. I think for most people, being able to tow with a range around 600 miles is feasible, providing you can get an 85% charge in less than an hour. I don't want to have to stop for an hour or more every 250-300 miles.

Wonder with the AC running on high in this Texas 100+ heat will do to that range?? Or how long just sitting still? When I had my Prevost Bus had 6 (8D Lifeline AGM Batteries, 12 Volt 255 Amp-hours per battery for a total of 1530 Amp Hours) for off grid/dry camping and they wouldn't last no time running 1 AC. Power 3 AC's up , what i had in coach, and you couldn't even start um. Overload.
