I have a 117 acre field that I work for sunflowers every year but don't utilize the field enough. I've decided to sell 12 season leases for dove hunting for $400 per person. That's for only one person and that person can bring one person with them for an additional $75 a day. There is no lodging available. I start my hunts the Friday after September 1st unless the 1st is on a Saturday. So this year I open my season on Friday September 2nd and will run through Sunday October 23rd. I have strict rules about trash, spent shells and rutting up roads. If you don't respect my place and other hunters you will be told to leave and not return. This field is large, so I will also have a few day hunters in it on the weekends sometimes, but I do not hunt it during the week with my day hunters, but season hunters will be able to hunt during the week, and don't hunt it every weekend with my day hunters. Some years this field has great sunflower and some years just average. It has one pond in the field. Here's a picture of the field a few years ago when Mother Nature cooperated perfectly.

So it's a season lease, but the season opener is not available? I'm interested in leasing if 9/1 is included.

I do not start any of my hunts on my property till the Friday morning after September 1st, unless Friday or Saturday is the 1st, no exceptions. I understand this is not the whole season, but it's most of it. I have to shut it down a little early due to Deer season.

Wish I had more time to Dove hunt! I've successfully hunted that field over the years! Different fly aways, leaving space to avoid hunting with sunlight in your eyes. Also, areas with good shade for those of us who need it in the afternoons. Most of all, the space gives you freedom to shoot across the field without worrying about those across from you! Google maps shows you the nearby waterholes, which are hot in the late morning or evenings.

I've hunted this field and I can tell you it is a great field when there are birds. Really well laid out and John runs a tight ship. Safety is priority #1. He has the best fields I have ever seen for dove. He certainly does his part.... the rest is up to Mother Nature. As he says I can set the table..... I have and will always hunt with John because of how he prepares his field and runs his operation. No room for drunks or idiots. It makes for a much more enjoyable hunt. Now after the hunt adult beverages are okay and he will drink one with you. Very hospitable host. It is a professional run operation and a great place to get away from everything for a nice hunt.
$400 is fair in my opinion for what he is offering.

I’ll echo what the others have said. I’ve hunted with Jon several times. He’s a great guy with a great place. He definitely puts in the work. Respect his land, and he will treat you well.

Do you knock off anything for the lease holder when he sells a $75 day hunt?

Do you knock off anything for the lease holder when he sells a $75 day hunt? Spots are $400, no guests. If someone wants to bring one guest it's $75 a day for the guest.

How many guns total on it? 12 season hunters. I will occasionally hunt 10-15 day hunters on the weekends, but I don't hunt it every weekend. It's a large field with plenty of room.

I need to clarify that I will sell these spots to individuals, small groups or all 12 to one group, doesn't make any difference to me. If someone just wants one spot that if fine with me.

Really wish I had more time this year; if offered next year keep me in mind!

Hypothetically, if one group leased it, let’s say they kick another $200. ($5,000)Does that get exclusive rights? Or would there be a discount for one group and you still bring in a few limited day hunters?

No exclusive rights and no discounts. But it is a large field, and I hunt it very little, and only Friday afternoon through Sunday morning. I don't hunt it every weekend. I like the freedom to be able to hunt it with a few guys if I need to.

The price has changed to $300 per person. There is a new ad in the Land and Lease section. Thanks
