But I see no ammo and VERY little if any brass. Why would this be? I thought the .357 Mag. was popular. .38 Special is almost as bad.

Neither is seen in stores because these two probably have the highest percentage of shooters that load their own than any cartridge. With stash prices I can load .357 for less than $0.15 per round. The only .357 in stock at SGAmmo is $1.28 per round. Consider a hard to find Coonan or a couple of others are the only auto .357's (newbies only want autos) made and you can see why the .38 and .357 are dying. I have a few of them so don't blame me. Aside from cowboy stuff the .45 Colt is going away too. When was the last time you saw .44 magnum on the shelf? It takes a very long time for a cartridge to die all the way though. Just look at the .32-20 WIN. It's a black powder era loading and it still has a small following as seen below...
Pass the gravy.

Buzz, do you need ammo? That would suggest that you shoot it.
If you get one let me know. I think I still have one set of carbide dies left with a factory crimp die I’ll send your way.
Check out the Model 97. I’ll own one someday in 45 Colt.

I was in the Waco Cabelas and the Academy a few days ago. They both had plenty of ammo, though I didn’t make a list of all the calibers. There was a huge supply of 5.56 and 9mm. And I picked up 1100 rounds of Remington Golden 22LR HP. My Tikka likes that ammo pretty well.
I’ve been loading 38 and 357 for decades. Used to have a truckload of 38 cases, but gave then away when I decided to just load 357. But then the wife wanted a 38. Anyway, the brass lasts forever, so buy some ammo. Shoot it and reload it a bazillion times.

357 is my favorite cartridge. Super easy to reload for, an as was mentioned earlier, the brass lasts forever. Not a slouch in a pistol, but it really wakes up in a rifle. Get you both.

Haven’t seen .357 Mag ammo on a shelf for quite some time. .38 SPL is available most of the time here. Everyone needs at least one .357, preferably in a nice wheelgun.

Just replaced the Pachmyr presentation grips my Blackhawk was wearing back when I bought it with some Hogues, really breathed new life into it. Looking forward to improving my revolver shooting.

Bullets and brass for .357 might be the easiest thing there is in the reloading world to find.
I do not in any way understand how anyone could put Pachmyr grips on a Blackhawk but Hogue grips are even worse on anything.
Pass the gravy.

Didn't see the word NEW in your post. I don't think I've ever bought new brass for anything. To each his own. I have no idea if these are trustworthy retailers but here is some new Starline brass: CLICK HEREOR CLICK HERE...and I would much rather have once-fired name brand brass than Starline any time.
Pass the gravy.

I'll sell you some ready to load previously enjoyed brass way cheaper...like only $0.65 per case.
Kidding...
