Wouldn't surprise me if some good ol' boy with more $ than sense imported a few.

I suppose so, a couple weeks ago in Bandera I saw a Kangaroo standing inside a low fence next to the road. Have no clue about that one.

Wildlife partners has a few. I believe the OX ranch has a few too
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Yep I bet someone had it in a high fence, got tired of that Roo and let it go. Kangaroos can cause damage to fences, compete with domestic livestock for grazing and water, and graze and trample crops. Some individual kangaroos harass or physically threaten humans at picnic areas where they have become accustomed to being fed by members of the public.

There used to be a herd of kangaroos on a place near Desdemona. Had a renegade monkey over close to Gatesville for a while. Not sure what happened to it. Probably coyote poop by now.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

Yes, there are some Cape Buffalo in Texas. I know that Wildlife Partners was buying all they could in the last couple years, and acquired around 60 or so at one point. There are also Cape Buffalo on the 777 Ranch, OX Ranch, Crown X Ranch, and a couple others... (I believe there are less than 200 in the entire United States though).

I have not seen any but know they are some here in Texas. There are several larger African animals here that are not publicized. Like Rhino, I knew of two ranches that have or had them. One 25 or so years ago and the other in the last 5 yrs. I had a friend who had Pygmy Hippos on his ranch back about 30-35 yrs ago.

i had a old angus bull that went thru a good but whooping from a new younger bull, and when he decided hed had enough after a few weeks he sulled up and went thru several fences and got in the neighbors pasture. said neighbor's pasture is 5400 acres and not a cross fence to be seen. this was in 2020 and hes still in there. been in there looking for him horseback several times and walking, hes rank. i hired some younger guys whose bones heal quicker than mine to catch him. they roped him and snubbed him to a post oak and i went to get the trailer. he popped that rope and last we saw him he was headed for new country with a rope on his neck dragging behind him. hes still in there and i told my 3 boys they could hunt him but only with archery.....poor mans cape buffalo!!!
kinda makes me rethink wanting to hunt one in africa

kinda makes me rethink wanting to hunt one in africa Sounds like this guy, he was jumping fences all over the county, stayed with us for about a month. We called him Rounder. He wasn't very friendly, took out a driver side door and fender on one of the hands truck.

Yep, that's a young bull in the OP. 'Sure looks like west Texas. They are not to be trifled with. I've killed 3, all in Zim. They can get addicting.

I think the high fenced ranch down the road from us has some.
They also have Watusi, Wilda-beast, various species of Antelope, Aouded, etc.
