Wyoming draw results out tomorrow at 9am Texas time.

Good luck to all in for elk and still time for deer and pronghorn apps.

Check your email and you may get the link to see your results before 9 am, no need to login that way.

Unsuccessful…AGAIN.

I had 3 points and applied special draw non resident. Under those circumstances I would have been 100% successful last year. So frustrating. I don’t have a lease here in TX anymore and this was to be my whole season.

Already got my cow elk license was a medical carry over from last year. Had 3 surgeries on my left hand last October & November. I was in no shape to hunt anything.

Good luck guys!

Check the leftover list in June, there will be some elk tags on it, mainly cows. Do not buy an Area 6 cow tag unless you have access.

The leftover draw is open to everyone, NRs and residents all in the same pot and no PP are needed or taken if drawn.

PP can be bought starting in July, they are not awarded for unsuccessful draws for elk, deer or pronghorn anymore.

With talks going on now in elk area 6, a call or email to the biologist and GW might find a hunter some access. Ranchers are complaining about too many elk and they can't get enough "good elk hunters" to help out. Kind of like the hog issue in Texas and getting access.
The elk herd up and get chased from ranch to ranch instead of folks taking animals from the herds without spooking them. It is open country hunting and the herds are hundreds into thousands of elk by Nov.
It's a whole 'nother conversation as they say.
Guided hunts are out there for area 6 cows, too expensive though I believe.

Put our apps in this morning for elk, deer and pronghorn.
Hoping to draw the elk area our lot is in up on the NF. We buy our cow tags OTC for the ranch we work on.
If we draw our whitetail licenses we will also be able to go buy a general deer licenses and hunt mule deer as well.
Our pronghorn area is about the same, not hit too hard so hopeful we draw 1st choice, not a trophy area.
I opted for a doe tag for whitetails too.

So far we have about $400 in our in state apps, for the 2 of us. That will go up with cow elk tags yet to buy and a black bear license. So probably $500 for the two of us.
Still makes it possible to fill our freezers for less than buying beef I believe. Hunting expenses are not high for us, everything is close to hunt.

Best of luck to all of you in the Wyoming draw and other states.

My friend just drew his cow elk license so we'll have 3 tags to fill.
Gonna be fun can't wait till middle of November.
