Is it just me?
Every where I go, the last week or so, I smell the skunk burning.

Yesterday, at the gas station. Some construction workers in the truck in front of me were burning one up.
The other day on my morning walk, a pick up goes by and I smelled pole cat for two minutes.
Last week at a stop sign - with my windows up - the Suburban ahead of me left a trail you could get a buzz from.

And this stuff is the skunk-ola.

Don't get me wrong, my generation was on the cutting edge of all that stuff but, wowzer. The herb is every where.

I don't smoke, but it really is no worse than alcohol, and certainly no worse than opioids. It's just not a big deal anymore and the state of Texas is missing out on a huge source of tax revenue.

Took my kid to his pediatrician yesterday and could smell it in the parking garage.

I don't care for that foul smell at all. Just another degradation of society.

I really don't care anymore. If I get muscle spasms in my upper back again, I'll be having a few tokes in the evening for a week or so rather than 30 to 60 days of muscle relaxers that make you feel groggy all day and don't really seem to help.

Just think, if you smell it, it probably came out of someones lungs and thus laced with COVID.

But drinking and driving is frowned upon as is public drinking ( and smoking cigarettes) in most instances so I can't see how someone blazing up a joint on the street corner or while driving down the highway is an acceptable activity. People raise holy hell about someone firing up a camel in public but some nasty arse skunk week is somehow ok?


and the " its no worse than alcohol and heroin" argument is baseless.....just because its less deadly than the other two does not make it ok.....its proven that marijuana use has many negative effects on the body.



Again, if a person wants to smoke/ingest in their own home or on private property, I'm ok with it. But I'm not ok with it being used openly in public if alcohol or tobacco isn't allowed in the same setting

I smell it all the time in hotels. I was on a job outside of Denver awhile back, and the entire small town I was staying in smelled like weed.

Gateway drug. I’ve got no use for a stoner. Put their butts on a plane and send them all to Russia. Let them move in to the same place that Britney Griner stays. Just one more indication the country is going to hell in a hand basket.

I wouldn`t know it if I smelled it. It`s still illegal and will probably stay that way in Texas.

That's the way I see it as well.

Lowers testosterone, can impair both short and long term memory as well as effect cognitive function. Smoke inhalation can cause lung damage. Not any worse than alcohol save for the lungs but it’s not a totally safe substance.

Doesn't bother me if you want to stay in the privacy and safety of
your own home and get high out of your mind or drink until you puke.

Never met a person who was a user of cocaine, meth or opioids who went straight to that, they all started out getting drunk or high on marijuana.


I don’t smoke but I do drink, in my younger days I would regularly drink to excess when I went out. I’m not a teetotaler who has never been under the influence.


I just wish people would call a spade as spade and stop acting like Marijuana is a harmless pastime with no negative attributes

This is exactly where I am and why I have been and will aways be against legalizing pot. People are simply too stupid to stay home and smoke, they just have to go out and show off to the world, thereby exposing others, even kids to their behavior.

The wife, daughter, son inlaw and I were coming back from Torchy's on Sunday and low and behold I see a guy smoking something through an apple in the car next to us

You know to each their own, I do not smoke the wacky tobacky but I drink alcohol, both are bad for the body and mind but ya have to die of something!
