I had this dropped off today (packaged kit) everything included, already built the foundation. 8 x 12

[Linked Image]

I built one about 15 years ago and it was fairly easy. After reading these instructions it is a little more complex.

Might need someone to build it or help..what's the going rate for this kind of task to build. No shingles( I got that) foundation (already done)or paint.

Here are the instructions:

https://pdf.lowes.com/productdocuments/a022a431-36d4-4fa9-a316-277dac238d4c/45513713.pdf?_gl=1*1dr9dv9*_gcl_aw*R0NMLjE2NTA5MzI4NTkuQ2p3S0NBandqWm1UQmhCNEVpd0F5blJtRHk1V0ZnX3Mwd2MzNXVlOEw0bzk1SnBLekJlOHczWVVERmV6WXkwbGRpZThYTkwweWluaUtCb0NvV0FRQXZEX0J3RQ..*_gcl_dc*R0NMLjE2NTA5MzI4NTkuQ2p3S0NBandqWm1UQmhCNEVpd0F5blJtRHk1V0ZnX3Mwd2MzNXVlOEw0bzk1SnBLekJlOHczWVVERmV6WXkwbGRpZThYTkwweWluaUtCb0NvV0FRQXZEX0J3RQ..

Located in Arlington if that matters.

I will probably do it myself, just curious.
'Thank you.

Overall pretty satisfying to build. Door is 1/8" off but functional. Now need to design inside. The riding mower works great, going to build a wooden permanent ramp going inside.

Is that sanitary sewer manhole a prop or did you build on/in an easement?

and overhead electrical lines

If you find yourself feeling useless, remember it took 20 years, trillions of dollars, and four presidents to replace the Taliban with the Taliban.

Sometimes the Universe puts you in the same situation again to see if you’re still a dumbass.

Yes the city annexed the land to us years ago. Used to be an old road about 30 years ago.

The power lines are on the other side of my fence...pic is deceiving.

I wish I had room for something like that. Probably a dumb question, but is the post sitting on top of the pavers adequate support to prevent any shifting of the building as you're moving the mower in and out?

Good job on the build, you may be wishing you’d put supports in the middle of the floor in the future but overall it will serve its purpose. I’ve built one on blocks years ago and I came to regret not bracing the floor better but hopefully you have better luck than I did with it.

I am smarter than the average bear. 6' rebar hammered into the ground about 4 feet deep x 6. See pic.

Why do not think it will help stabilize the potential shift?

I placed 6" gravel underneath the cinder slabs blocks, per instructions. Instructions also stated not recommended a grade over 16" for this method, mine is just under 9 inches.

The rebar was not required, I did this same process on my greenhouse base and through 4 seasons of heavy downburst winds no issues even as light as it is.

Should have removed topsoil under the blocks and then added the gravel but it will work fine the way you did it. It’s the topsoil that allows things to move over time since it’s full of organics. As far as the rebar goes, you just wasted some perfectly good rebar if the wind catches the sail lol but I was referring to bracing to keep the floor from sagging in the middle in my comment. Either way you did a good job and it will last a long time just the way it is as long as you keep paint on it. It’s built exactly like my original one was many moons ago and it lasted a decade just fine before we moved other then the middle of the floor started to sag over time.

I did remove top soil, placed gravel underneath then blocks.look at pics.

I also went with 12" centers on the floor unlike the 16" centers requested by the instructions. I believe I am good, thanks for adding stress, though...lol

Looks good but without gravel completely underneath you might be inviting possums and such.

No need to stress, you did a great job up I wouldn’t be concerned with it.. An idea though, I built a loft on the entire back half of the one I had to store stuff I didn’t use a lot like Christmas lights etc etc. I basically added an attic to it that was all easily accessible from a ladder In case you wanted to use more of the unused space. If your anything like me you’ll have the entire thing overflowing in less than a month and need more storage room ASAP. I used every inch of it and it may be why my floor bowed in the middle over time smile ani

It will sag with the weight of that mower on it.
