Mainstream definitely is. I spend a lot of time listening to music by unsigned artists who actually do what they want and aren’t trying to make the radio or a record label tell them how to sound. I’m always exploring new music, there’s a LOT of really great country music out there. I haven’t listened to the radio for years

When I used to be book bands some I knew were going to make it didn’t and some I thought would never make it did.
All it takes is the right person to promote you. When Miranda Lambert was just starting I thought she was just ok. She sighed several pics and cds. Which I gave to customers. bang

Did he write it? If so, not too shabby. I'd pick a different hat though.

That's a synthesizer (or what ever they call them now) on the intro. Not even close to a "bugle." Somebody has a tin ear. rofl

I have to take Sneaky to a karaoke bar. He's way too invested in his opinion about country music. I think some oilfield trash is holding out on us. Bet your bottom dollar the sumbitch can sing.

I agree with Creekrunner. Just not my kind of song really as I'm an old school dance hall music guy.

And the hat is absolutely horrible

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Jerry Jeff is was a ny transplant that hung around some of the best musicians of his time. In doing so he got to play some of their songs.

Nothing more.

That being said I like some JJW

His best songs were retreards.

My personal favorite that he sang is La Freeway.
