I have a 2014 F250 with 6" of lift and some aftermarket wheels and tires. It has 68K miles on it. How much do you think I could get for it if I sold it myself. Dealer just offered me 35K but I think I can do better.

On another note, is now a good time to purchase a new truck? I have been hearing that now is a good time.

I have another boy on the way and I think it is time to get rid of my toy and get into something more practical.

You'd need to provide a lot more information to get an estimate on its value.

The Manheim Index which measures wholesale used-vehicle prices, has been dropping. Used car prices have dropped for the 4th consecutive month, currently $1000 less than Dec 2021. So, it's getting better on the used side.

$35K for a 2014 sounds like a good deal. But I don't know anyone that's not paying full MSRP+ on new vehicles right now. I personally don't see the advantage of buying in this market.

What info would you like? I can post a pic if that helps.

Engine would be the biggest thing you didn’t include. Cab size, interior, color of vehicle, type of lift.

Crazy times. I can’t tell you a value on your truck, but I would defiantly shop it around. The Ford dealers are hurting real bad for trucks and it’s only gonna get worse. Part of the reason I say that is you can no longer even order a new F150 or F250 from them… Ford shut it all down for 2022. Even the dealers can’t order anymore, and they aren’t real happy about it. Knowing that, I’d bet the value on yours will only go up once they get in and sell the ones they have already ordered.

The sales manager for Rockwall Ford has a son that plays baseball on the same team with my son. He’s been keeping me in the loop because I just ordered a truck from him on 3/29. Last weekend he said he’s guessing they are just gonna have to sell used trucks for the rest of the year. Yesterday I saw an add for another dealer selling almost my exact truck, only last years model, with 15k miles on it for $13k more than I’m paying for the new one I just ordered a month and a half ago… it’s insane! I’ll PM you his contact info if you wanna give him a call.

I think the lift and wheels and tires are going to hurt the price. You are taking a pretty good percentage of the market away from it.

That kind of depends on the wheels and tire. If it looks "urban", I'm not even considering the vehicle. If it's got an aggressive off road look, that would be appealing to me.

I'm not sure what you are referring to with this link. I have had no accidents, had to replace the DEF sensor but that's it. Oh, and my dad shot a hole through the bed on a public hunt in 2020. Luckily, no one was standing there or that he hit anything vital. He was putting his firearm in the case, on the bed of my truck with it angled slightly into the side, BANG his 270 destroyed a bunch of water bottles and exited the side. I had it fixed and you can't tell it even happened. I'm still bitter about that and did a few hunts without him. He taught me a lot and introduced me to hunting but looking back he never talked about safety and he sure as heck hasn't practiced safety. My truck was his 3rd one that I know of. I love the man to death but I have a family and no need for that kind of carelessness around me.

He's going to need a vehicle he's not going to find parts to fix his you might see if he wants it.

Nice looking truck. I doubt you'd have a problem getting $35k for it.

My dad had an old Enfield 30-06 that was converted into a hunting rifle. His best friend from high school had it in Alaska and worked the trigger. It was very light. If you were not careful when throwing the safety off it would fire. One day after hunting he almost shot out a friend's tire. I don't know Fords but in this market I would say $35k is low. Never take a dealers first or even second offer and shop it.

Put in up for sale your self and take the best offer…..35k seems low in this market and you will pay full sticker price for a new one…

Two years ago I bought a 2014 F250, crew cab, FX, King Ranch with just about the same mileage for $31,000. The only difference is it is a gasser at that time the Diesel F250 were in the low to mid $40’s with that mileage if not more. So in my opinion that is a low offer and you would have no problem selling it at that. If it’s paid off I say keep it if not I would still keep it as you are not going to find any deals in this market.
