Does anyone here have the battery cover that fits The Timer?
Or do you know where the cover can be found?

Thanks up

Hopefully, someone has a dead one laying around. Probably have to get on Amazon and look for a similar battery cover.

Won't duct tape adequately cover the little opening where the double A goes?

That's what I'm hoping for Jimbo1.
I've been looking everywhere and can't seem to locate anything comes close to working.

I wish it was that easy Hudbone.
The battery cover has + & - metal connection points that make contact with the two timer batteries.

I vote for duct tape also. Especially since it’s out of weather.
Unless the cover applies some pressure to make battery contact better. I’ve also heard that the small battery isn’t even needed in The Timer anymore.

Yep, wasn't thinking.

Yea, I looked at one of my The Timer and that cover is very specific and can’t imagine anything but the real deal working.

Yea, looked at mine today also. You might ask on Facebook or Craigslist for a dead one. On a side note, I was changing batteries today and the display never died when I removed the 2 AA’s or even when I put a different fully charged 12 volt in. Kinda weird as the bottom battery display continued to show 1/4 charge. Maybe you don’t even need the AA’s.

When a trusted friend told me the small batts weren’t needed in The Timer anymore I quit thinking about em and haven’t replaced AAs in years. Can’t imagine why they would be there if not needed. Maybe they made an internal change to bypass them and just didn’t want to reinvent the outer case.

According to the “troubleshooting the timer” document on the ASF site the AA batteries are only used to save the time and other settings in case the unit gets disconnected from the 12v source.

I am wondering if West Texas Feeder Supply would have a spare battery cover?

I spent good money on two of what turned out to be pieces of junk. Don’t waste your money.

This may seem sacrilege however when I used to build winch feeders and install Timers I would recommend HCR out of Burnet. I used to know Gene but then something happened and could not get orders filled and heard they went out of business. However every time I go by there they have vehicles. My point is the two timers are very good and about the same size and I do know they used to warranty their timers The battery doors may fit.

HCR timers are good up I've had one for years with no issues.
The only thing that I don't like is you can't adjust the feed times for each feeding.
The battery cover on the HCR is located on the back of the timer.
The Timer's battery cover is located on the bottom of the timer.

I don't use the internal batteries on the Timer. They work just fine.
