My lady tells me I'm 64% in "cash" whatever this means in Financial Advisor talk. I guess most of my $$ is in IRA's and Insurance, Munies. But I can't even get the courage anymore to look at my accounts.

I also have a bunch of just, plain, cash making a little interest in a "savings account" Which I can go withdrawal today. This covers all my toys and Whatever I spend over my pension and S.S income.

Really need to know how much I need to reel in my spending on toys. My Morgan Stanley money will be used when my fun money runs out. Hopefully By this time I'll be dead or not give a chit about toys anymore.

Just before I retired in Dec I moved all but a little north of $30k from my TSP account into the G fund. Wishing now I would have went all in the G. Guess I'll let it ride since it's not a loss until I move it.

Happy I cashed out when I retired.

Dividends keep coming in and reinvesting in more shares at the lower prices. Makes me a little less sad, but still sad.

I follow Ken Moraif. In early February he said if you are within 5 years of retirement, you might consider cashing out to lock in your gains. I did. Bought a bunch of 7.6% Treasuries that mature on 11/15/22. For now, I'll take 7.6% earnings. I did keep two stocks one for the dividend, the other as a gamble if it takes off.

I posted how to make 7% in 6 weeks on April 15th. Got a lot of flack, but the 6 weeks is up next Fri. and it did exactly what I said it would do. $2261/$31880=7%

I’m down close to 30%. I’ll let it ride. I’m young enough that it won’t hurt. Won’t be putting anymore money into that market for a while, going to focus on real estate

I ventured into the stock market when Covid hit to try and get lucky...I was up quite a bit at one point but held it thinking it'd get even better and now i'm down 17%...still a LOT of upside to the company i invested in if they don't go bankrupt first!! I have a Roth IRA and a couple other retirement investments, but I'm not even gonna look at them right now!!haha

Buy when it’s low just that many more shares you’ll own when it goes back up. I think we’re in for a couple more hard years but in 24 if Trump can get back in or a maga candidate with a maga congress I think it’s going to go through the roof and get back on track. Like you said you’re young and it’s not going to hurt much I’m putting in more at the moment.

My uncle is a pretty big investment advisor for a large company. They believe 2023 is going to be worse than this year.

I understand that. I have enough in cash sitting in the EJ to use when we feel it’s time. So for now I’ll focus on real estate ventures. Diversification is key

Not a guru but I’m in commodities, energy, precious metals during high inflation. When the markets really tank, everything gets sold off for margin calls. I knew a year ago that inflation was not transitory when you print $8 trillion in money supply in a few years. The most likely course is, Feds raises rates one more time, crash the market, and the economy, knee-jerk back to lower rates and QE. At which time, everyone will realize they have lost control and run to Gold and safe haven assets. Inflation will be ugly this entire decade.
