this morning. We have two cats, one being the small silent assassin type and one being a huge Maine Coon that never shuts up. The big one had come over to me with something he wanted to say, though I’m quite sure he knows I don’t speak Cat. And I spoke to him a bit, and it seemed a reasonable thing to do.

It seems that dogs actually understand some words, and some understand quite a lot of words. Cats, on the other hand, who knows what they understand? Maybe they do understand some words, but just ignore us.

I’m pretty sure you guys talk to your pets. Admit it.

To my dogs, yes, to the barn cats, nothing other than F off or GTFO of the way.

To my barn cats, they get extra food, they keep the rattle-buttons away from the house and i HAVE rattlesnakes here!!!! GOOD KITTY!

Cats understand far more than we give them credit for. The cat at my house does exactly what I say. He doesn’t listen to anyone else. They’re just like children.

If a dog could text you:

Where did you go?
Why didn't you take me with you?
When will you be back?
Why have you been gone so long?
I can't believe you left me!
I might die before you get back!

I’d argue we have one of the stupidest and/or stubborn dogs around. The stray cat that lived on the back porch kept a distance but knew her place and was awesome. She knew exactly what was going on and what we were saying.

Cats seem to understand tones and body language. A rich person wears clothes with high-end names on their clothing, a happy person wears cat fur on their clothes.

I like them alright, in the proper setting. When they show up at the ranch house, uninvited, crapping everywhere and whining constantly, they abruptly dissappear. They just don't listen to reason...or warnings.

If I lived in the country and did not have chickens or quail, I wouldn't mind having feral cats around for pest control.

Not true. Had an old guy die about a month or so ago out near the ranch. When found he had been down about 3 days or so. The cat was not feeding on him . He fed the cat outside and had no litter box inside either.
That cat was is heck of a mouser in the barn, thankfully it found a new home.

Cats belong in the barn. Or sometimes the shop.

That cat just wasn't hungry enough yet.

That's just cruel!

I've got the best dog. He acts just like a cat...said no one.
