I’ll let someone else try that out, first.

I’m not at all opposed to Harbor Freight tools, in general, but there’s a history behind this one.

There’s just some things a person can’t get over and regain their trust in. This is one, for me.

Another is pipe wrenches. I’ll never again buy a pipe wrench from HF. I don’t fault them too much for that one, though, because I haven’t seen anyone but Ridgid make one worth buying.

Oh, I certainly could, but many feelings would be hurt.

You got to get pipe wrenches from lowes. We learned that early on when dad eventually lost 45k on that deal lol. Water under the bridge i guess

I’d use those jack stands.

Had about 15 of their floor jacks when I was in the tire & wheel business. They got used all day 6 days a week, just maintain and watch your equipment.

A good friend of mine owns an automobile restoration shop. He said that they buy HF tools now & then when needed for a job. He says that they ALWAYS buy the warranty. If the tool breaks, slows down, malfunctions or wears-out too soon they take it back. Said they has never been a question or argument from HF - they just give them another one.

If it has a power cord, be wary. The good thing ,if it fails, take it back, they give you a new one, no questions asl.

Harbor Freight in general has decent quality stuff for the most part. Decent, not great and that is why electricians don't buy their lineman pliers, side cutters, strippers, etc there nor does a professional auto mechanic buy their tools there. But, if you need tools that you don't use everyday then why the hell not? I have bought a lot of tools there over the years and they all work for the purpose I need them to. I'd much rather pay $10 for a 2.25" socket for my impact for farm equipment than $75 for a high end name brand one if I'm only needing it one time to pull apart a disc harrow to rebuild it.

Roger that. Everyday tools = buy quality.

Occasional use/beater tools = HF.

I would never use one of my Klein screwdrivers as a hammer or pry tool, but I keep HF screwdrivers around just for that purpose.

Exactly right sb!!!

They don't give those Klein tools away. Hell, I remember starting in the trade 30 years ago and what it cost me for a complete hand tool package including leather pouches and belt is about what a pair of pliers, needle nose, side cutter, and stripper cost now! lmao Hell, and I am talking about the full package back then including nut driver sets as well as a badass Marvel hacksaw! eek2

The hands today wouldn't know how to cut a stick of 3/4 EMT with a hacksaw much less 2" RMC! lmao

Same here. If I was using my tools to make a living I wouldn't mess with HF. Since I don't, I have no problem buying some of their tools and other stuff.
