From the outside looking it I’d say the landowners pushing the case ultimately look at the blm land as their private playground. Probably outfitting in it from their private access as well. If not they like to be the only ones with the access to it for hunting. They likely keep the local DA full of donuts and lager at the local pub and the tax payers float the real cost. Even if they lose these poor guys will have spent a ton of money fighting both the criminal charges but the civil suit as well.
Who in the world thinks they control the air space above their property? Do these guys file charges when a plane flies over?
