I applaud the effort by Texas government and wish the Feds would comb through other foreign investments in land, infrastructure and food production.
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

Not just Texas. In the US. Actually very smart of them. If they can't compete technologically in the air for war, they can and will control us by food supply if our government allows it to happen.

a thought just popped in my head ... if some foreign person/corporation were to buy land in the US ... and they raised livestock, grain, produce, etc., if they ship products to their home country, would there is export fees?

The Chinese are part of the foreign nationals buying property. Russian oligarchs have bought millions of property. https://www.nbcnews.com/business/real-estate/russian-money-flows-us-real-estate-rcna17723Then there are the Mexican drug cartels, buying legitimate busines property in the southwest.

There's no export fees other than normal shipping, packaging and insurance. Yes there would be import fees when it arrived in whatever country it was shipped, UNLESS they had some sort of special arrangement.
To be determined

I was approached by a Chinese investment firm. So far I've managed to keep their realtor at more than arms' length. I wondered if I had a price. What if they offered 10x value?

Money talks, but China is gonna get into a war with us, sooner or later. From an old school vet's perspective that sort of thing verges on trading with the enemy, but what do I know? If it's okay for the prez's family and the Senate minority leader then it must be okay for you.

Locals in East Texas claim Chinese are looking to buy land to build chicken farms.

Go to your county tax appraisal office ask how many of the tax notices go out of state and out of country. You might be surprised. The sale of land, buildings, etc to foreigners has been happening for decades. I hunted a place in the 80s that was owned by some Germans and Austrians. They hired out the local farmers to plant and harvest for them. The ranch part was overseen by a neighboring rancher. The overall manager was a local and paid very well.
They also use it as a stepping stone to get green cards. Then bring family over. The independent hotel and motel Iindusty is a green card industry.

They are buying our property and slowly killing us. Why else would they make such good food with an all you can eat buffet?
