Looks like they did some "rolling blackouts" in my area early this morning. My CPAP dying is what woke me up. Only lasted a few minutes. Took longer to reset all the clocks than it was actually off.
Reported on Nextdoor in many different areas around me. May need to move the gen to the back porch already. Guess I need to go ahead and buy that window AC as planned too.
MF-ers are starting early!

Dang it, before noon? Our a/c just came on for the first time since I turned it up from 68° to 72°, after getting out of bed this morning. May contribute to the cause and turn it up to 73°.

Two things, I've said, since the 70's. The only thing to keep Texas from growing,
is power and water. And now we have neither. If I knew it in the 70's. Why the hell
didn't they ? We should have been building lakes, and reservoirs across the state. And used
them as cooling water for nuclear power plants. Just like Comahche Peak. It was the perfect
model. Now look, at the crap storm, we're facing, because of their ineptness... It makes me
sick... The only model our Texas leaders follow now. Is the model of self interest...
And you may even reference, tax reform... I don't know about ya'll, but between the air head in DC
and the fools leading Texas... I've just about, run out of patience.....

Yep...Yet, Governor Abbott is more concerned about putting on a show so he can get reelected than he is about doing what's right. He came out and assured us that the grid was fine. No need to worry because he put the right people in place. I hate that man. I hate Dan Patrick more. Both need to be thrown out of office...but Beto scares me more.

It’s only 96° in the shade here now. Turned the a/c up to 73°. Runs for 10 minutes, then shuts off and rests for 6 minutes.

Sit in my house and sweat so other folks can charge their electric cars? I don't like the chances of that happening.
