What happened to this poor guy? When I first saw him on my doorstep in broad daylight, my first thought was rabies, but he was so sick he didn't even growl or try to move. I had to pick him up with a catch stick. Mangy. Back wound was oozing. Trap, fight, just ancient? He looked at me like "Do something. " Weird. I think the poor devil smelled the water in the swamp cooler. I ended the suffering as quick as I could.

He looks really dead. His back looks like something bit a chunk out of it (coyote, bobcat?)

In that first pic, he actually looks a bit like me in the morning, pre-coffee.
