Darn near 100 degrees and was hotter yesterday! Sitting in driveway in shade on laptop just so day doesn't pass me by in front of tv. This country is drying up so not much chance the pastures will recover if we do get rain so dove season is going to be a wash. Price of fuel is stupid and cost of hunting appears to be on upward trend. I'm trimming budget where I can just in case something comes along and a trip or hunt suits me later. Hard to wrap my mind around $2000 plus for a head and very little meat or $200 for day trip outa town. Budget cuts around here involve buying just what I need at grocery store and haven't even thought about trying to A/C on house! Hoping for decent raise in June. The 33% pay cut I took almost 3 years ago would be more like 38-40% looking at numbers now. Single and cheap so will survive the weather and pay scale!

I took a pay cut when oil tanked, last, and I haven’t seen it come back up, yet.

With the price of oil where it is at right now $108.00 and record profits, I bet the folks sitting in the nice air conditioned offices or mega homes pay is up. Really sucks that it is the hardest working folks that usually get screwed in these situations!

Some service companies are doing alright, but a lot are having a hard time getting the pricing they need to make a profit. It’s unusual.

You live in Odessa and still have pay cuts? Oilfield is booming WTH I left job of 30 years voluntarily with incentives and my son had this for me so it was more of something to keep me busy....and man does it! I balance the scales with the OT I get. Work 40 then get around 10-20 ot a check and it works out okay. Dropped few lbs and better shape physically than have been in years.

As pappy once said : Not everyone pays the same price @ the pumps... what amaze me tis. Whin i mention the hard times i went threw, getting terminated cause back went out after years of foundry work, whin i filed on workman's comp, ( it twas set up ta help low- income workers, twas making little over $7. an hour ) got laughed @, made fun of... Some on here, (not gonna mention names), went out way ta put me down... Low-income workers lives matter also... Best wish's... Been thar.... Social distancing from MN...

We are having a discussion. Nobody was whining, until you came along. If you knew the difference, nobody would have ever “made fun of you,” as you put it.

Best of luck Rloving. My bad not depressed or meant to be depressing. This is a world of my making and am actually pretty content with life! Not a rich man by any means, but have ability to get off lazy back side and change my surrounding if choose to.This is lot better situation than alot of folks that have moved out here to work endure. I do have the best of luck, I can get outa bed and know it's going to be a great day...would be greater if mother nature blessed us with some rain.

Hey Rowell, Long time no see. You should come to a shoot and kill some foam. We finally have some new targets. Glad to hear you're doing ok. Pablo

Made a Fortune out that way back in the 80's and 90's. Hey Loving, heading out that way Friday to see a friend. Buy you a cold one at the 10-4 Club.
