May 2022 floating dock launch. Had to move 2 of the four 400 lb concrete anchors after the ice moved them 50+feet out of position. Than had to swim out to, dive down to and flip one of them over using a pry bar in the 40 F recently ice covered frigid water - my mid 50s body is getting a little old for that chit. Thank the gods for whiskey.

First step was to reposition the 400 lb submerged anchors:

The 2000 lb paddle board. Paddled the two pieces about 1/4 mile from the winter shelter spot to the summer dock location:

All done

Now that the dock is out the spring bear hunt is on deck

Looks really good. Time for you to purchase a wetsuit or drysuit and some scuba gear if you are going to be diving in that cold water.
The coldest water I have dived in was 56° at 70 foot deep and I didn't like it one bit. I can't imagine what 40° without a wetsuit feels like and hope I never find out.
Good luck on your spring bear hunt.

Lot of hard work there that looks great and the end of the pier looks like a nice spot to pull up a chair and sip on some whiskey.

Questions how deep was the water that you had to dive down in to flip over that one anchor and what is the outside temperature?
The two boards you had to paddle a 1/4 mile, did you have them hooked up to the canoe to paddle them back or?
Do you fish off your pier if so do you have much luck?

Good luck on your spring bear hunt!

Hirogen, looks great. I don't know if I could do 40 but I know when work needs to be done, it must be done. We had a chat a couple years back about the floating dock, I finally finished mine. Plan to fish off it in 2 weeks when I go down there. Thanks for the advice.

I see the Channelocks on the counter balance. How many tools are under that dock? I have about a 75% recovery rate depending on value and if I have a backup already.

You need to get those kids to do the cold water diving wink Regardless, nice job...looks great and I'm glad you got rid of your hard water issue...going to be 90's this week.

Water was 6.5 to 7 feet deep where i dove. No canoe to paddle them back. Canoe in the pic was used to paddle out periodically to check location of of the anchors when they were being moved. Paddled the two pieces back at once by just standing on the big and moving around the sides with a stand up paddle board paddle. Outside temperature yesterday when i did the work was 75 - we finally got our first real warm spell. We do fish off the dock for bass and walleye and it's not bad but there are better options with the boat.

Called McQuaby. Closest lake you may have heard of is Nipissiing (Big lake with trophy walleye) which is 7 or 8 miles north of us.

Post up some picks when you get a chance. Anything i only have one of has a 100% recovery. Anything else depends on the value same as you. I am fairly OCD about the expensive stuff - gets done on dry land or if absolutely has to be taken onto the dock than used immediately and than put away immediately.
