We had a hail storm Thursday. Yesterday there was at least 3 roofers going door to door in our neighborhood. One even came to my house. He wanted to do a roof inspection. I stepped outside and told him to look at my roof. It's metal. He still tried to talk me into an inspection. I told he to get off my property. Those guys are like vultures.

Yes sir the storm chasers are quite annoying! I’m a roofer myself but don’t always advertise it because I don’t want to be lumped in with that crowd. I work primarily in commercial and multi family anyways, so much different game.

Well, you know those hailstones could have had metal penetrating tips on them......

We have a metal roof too. The guys who originally put it on came by and said that they would give us a new roof and pay for our deductible on the insurance if we would make a claim. We did and they came and did a walk through with the insurance guy when they did an inspection. We got brand new decking, roof and gutters/downspouts. Sometimes those solicitations work out.

That must have been some large hail if you got new decking included in the deal!

In need someone to come roof my shed ..it's only 100-150 sq feet. Just bought all materials...hope someone comes knocking.

I highly doubt they arrest them, Frisco police are pretty cool and good guys from my observations

They just run them off, If you call them they will be on your street within about 3 minutes.

If you get the No Soliciting sign from the Police Department and someone door knocks, they will be out in flash to remedy it. I have never seen a police department with such great customer service before, and that goes for for all the staff at the City of Frisco, they put customer service #1.

One late afternoon last week I was over at my neighbors visiting and a young guy on one of those electric Hoverboards knocks on their door, I answer for them.
He is trying to sell pesticide treatment, they are not interested, he is very persistent, I had to tell him in a stern agitated voice to leave now and closed the door.

Next day guess who zips up to my door on the Hoverboard? Yep its him and my mutt (Luke) basically hates everyone that comes to our door unless he knows them really well.
While Luke is losing his mind trying to get out after this guy, I am calmly but firmly telling him not interested!
Again he persist, so here we go again, I am back to telling him to get the F off my property now or I release the Kraken (Luke) on his azz.

I did not know those Hoverboard's could go that fast

There are definitley respectable roofers, and there are those that play the insurance/ insurance fraud game. I have several roofers I use and respect. I wouldn't let the other type on my property. It's such a racket!
