I am absolutely against any of the fairy dust dream of wind and solar energy, so I’d rather deal with the smell of a chicken house any day. F the greenie weenies and their fairy tales. I’m not saying I like them, but the royalties are pretty damn good. A buddy has 2 on his 200 acres, both on the very south property line, they don’t bother him, and they pay about $15,000 every February & August. Easier than any livestock or crops I can definitely understand that and it sounds like easy money that’d be tough to turn down.

I’d go chickens. I got a dozen Easter chicks in my garage as I type. Another few weeks and we have learn to butcher chickens like omie and opie did day. They don’t smell that bad… reading this post makes me think there’s a bunch a Nancys on here. I don’t think you’ve ever been by a chicken farm. A bit different than 6 chickens. That’s like comparing your trash can to a landfill.

Then was happy to volunteer for a few hours of overtime each shift washing everything down with a hot water fire hose. It seemed like a fire hose. I’m ok with chicken today and can cook it well. One thing I don’t do is smell it raw out of the package. Brings back memories. Knew a guy that was a chicken hanger in a plant. Said he did 1000 chickens an hour.

Tough question I'd look for another option.
Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

I grew up on the family farm with around 400k chickens, I don’t want to look at or smell either one.
