Old set needs to be replaced. Been on for years and one of the tires no longer holding air over the time I leave and come back. Getting tired of airing it up each time and going to spend some money.

I have gotten good use out of Deestones and they have never left me stranded. Is there something I am missing? No 6 or 8 ply crapola please, 12-14 only. If useful thoughts, I would appreciate hearing them.

Have you tried sliming the leaking tire?

Yeah, we had pumped in a bunch after the graphite failed to work. I'll bet the tires are 8 plus years old.

Well that’s too bad, bias ply definitely last longer in the sun than radials. I’d check with a small independent shop if you can find one.

Holes in boots, holes in tires. I’m starting to see a pattern!

Back in the 80s i ran Buckshot MTs. They were nylon belted and a real tough tire. Not sure if they are still available. I know you are looking for a bias ply tire but you might consider the Goodyear MTRs.

Ran Buckshots for years. When they quit making them I got a set of Maxxis Bighorns for my Jeep and I've never had to put air in them during the 6 or 7 years I've had them. I'm going to be really sad when I finally have to replace them.

Well what do you know...I did a quick search for Maxxis tires and it turns out that they still make a bias-ply tire.

Love that tire but it's too big. Particularly too wide. I like to run 16 x 7.50. Less exposure to thorns and with less width, the sidewalks hold up better.

Years ago I ran some Michelin XPS 16” on my ‘95, ‘99’, ‘00 and ‘03 F250. Radial, but had steel wrapped sidewalls. When I got low on tread, I’d give them to rancher buddy for trailer tires. He ran them till the steel belt showed, or they blew out. Pretty much thorn proof, never had a flat. Don’t know if Michelin still makes them.

Have not pulled the trigger, but likely to go with the 12 ply Deestones. Can't find anything more rugged and that is what I need. Fill 'em with goop, air them up as much as you can and good to go.

Jeez, hoping the clown doesn't urge me to under-inflate 'em. Sucker bet at best.

Are those the same tires you are replacing?

More supply chain issues crapola, but finally found a set. Got four coming. 7.50 x 16 12 ply. These will be stout. They'll come to my office, I'll put 'em in the back of the Taco and head over to Boy's down the street who will change them all out. Add tire sealant, inflate to 60 or so and I will be good for another 8 - 10 years.

I really liked the Maxxis suggested above only there are way too wide. Less wide means less of a footprint, fewer thorns and a stouter sidewall.
