Dad, mom and son ( probably in his early 20's) we're sitting next to us in a restaurant. I mean a booth along the wall with a table and two chairs on other side. Up close and personal. All of a sudden the dad reaches over table grabs son by front of shirt with one hand and then grabs his hair with other and starts to drag him out of the restaurant with son fighting back as they go(but not much resistance).

Heard from waiter that once outside the dad held on to his hair and punched him in the face repeatedly.

Wife closed out tab and food was untouched.

Got dinner and a movie....lol

Police were called by staff.

I know you are not asking me, but I was there and my stance is none of my business. My table next to theirs did not get disrupted during the scuffle. It's a family thing and not any of my business.

If the kids were there I would do just as you did and shake my head. I do not want problems around the twins.

I hope it was a good fight. No bigger waste of time than a bad fight - people roundhouse swinging and no punches land. Boring to the max.

I wonder at what age the situation would have changed. I see a 20yr old get drug out by dad Im hanging tight. I see a 5yr old get drug out that way Im stepping in.

I’d be curious to what was said or done to trigger that reaction. My initial thought was the “kid” said something disrespectful or threatening and didn’t get the response he was expecting

Daddy drug my arse through La Villita in downtown San Antonio one evening in the mid seventies. I think I was 16. Pulled me by a cop who did nothing so I yelled out, "He's hurting me". He was and the cop still did nothing. I deserved every bit of it and more. I am so glad Daddy had the will and the strength to do what was right and how inappropriate behaviour would not be tolerated. I can't imagine having to raise me. Belief mine, he made me a better man.

Beating on somebody just to beat on them is ridiculous. A lack of tolerance can be justified.

You come at the king you better not miss. Kid likely earned it but faces punches are kinda wrong. Also, finish the meal and let him think he got away with it, then take it home and let him know he didn't get away with anything.

That's the way I would have handled. Keep your family problems off my table and I'll keep mine off of yours. A little tough love is necessary once in a while.
