Trying to rig up a battery pack on my AR without using duct tape and spending as little as possible. The cord that came with the wraith is only about a foot long.
How horrible would a 3-6’ cord and just keeping the battery pack in my pocket? I know sight mark sells a pack that snaps on to a rail for $80, but I’m cheap.

Unless you are sitting in a blind with only one window to shoot out of, you will hate the long cord. Moving around in total darkness and trying not to fall all over yourself is hard enough without adding booby traps for yourself. If it can get snagged on something, IT WILL. You will hate it.

I used an old nylon cell phone case for one of mine. I added velcro strips to it to strap it around the stock. Not only secures it in place but protects the battery pack. The short cord works fine with this setup.

Why not use one of these: I used the top one with an Anker power cell on my Wraith

I bought a 5000mah battery pack off amazon that I plug into my thermal and use vet wrap to strap it to my gun. Works a lot better than the dinky 14650/cr123 batteries I was using before. a big roll of vet wrap is like $3 at tractor supply. cheaper than walmart or amazon. (and yes, that's a left handed AR, it's not just a reversed image)

I use the cylinder shaped 5k Anker battery and hold it on either the rail or the stock/buffer tube area with a NeoMag Sentry Strap LINK. It’s a flexible and adaptable solution, and doubles as sling management during transport (every carbine ought to have a sling)

Take a look at the Condor Buttstock Magazine Pouch on Amazon. Under $15. I have these on several rifles. I tend to modify them according to the buttstock and how I want to attach the pouch, but it is usually with a combination of the molle straps and zip ties. I usually have spare ear plugs and other spare small gear in there as well. I find it holds a 10k mah Anker or other similar sized power bank just fine. The Vet wrap is a good idea as well. If you are using on of the 5K mah cylinder Anker batteries and was a picatinny mount, you can actually fit one of these around the Anker. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019GXKQSW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1Here is where I was running it on a FLIR PTS736 using the picatinny rail on the side of the scope

Go to Walmart and buy a little digital camera case, use a couple zip ties to hold it to your fore end. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Canon-Powershot-SX120-IS-Digital-Camera-Case-Medium-Point-Shoot-Digital-Camera-Case-Black-Grey-Replacement-by-Synergy/126716796
