What is your process for checking that a round stabilizes before running through your suppressor?

I shoot thru a cardboard box at about 25-50 yds making sure round hole in and round hole out. First 308 I tried subs in failed miserably due to having 1/12 twist instead of 1/10. Used 150gr 30/30 type bullets and worked like a charm.

I go to JBMBALLISTICS.COM, calculate the stability factor and stay well above the marginal stability #

I generally go to the Berger stability calculator. You can enter in all the data you need there. The most critical number is the bullet length. Next would be the shape of the bullet, or type of bullet. There are some bullets that simply make a poor choice as a subsonic bullet.

Is this a problem with 22s or are almost all 22 rounds stable? I'll be shooting out of a MK IV

Also need to run my 6.5 CM 140 ELD-M through my new suppressor, but I suppose that's not really a concern in a Tikka CTR

Do NOT shoot the Aquila (sp).22 LR 60gr Super Sniper Subsonic through your suppressor until you verify they are stable. Aquila does not recommend them through a suppressor and some suppressor manufacturers prohibit them.
