Friends have convinced my wife she needs a juicer, so she ordered one. Plans to first off juice about 2 pounds of carrots, and one apple (for flavor). As far as I can tell, there isn’t much juice in a carrot. Any of you folks ‘juice’ veggies? Is it worthwhile? And can I use it for Margaritas when she quits juicing?

I do carrots and pineapples

carrots - not a lot of juice but what u get is very concentrated, just divide in 4 servings and finish,
they don't keep longer than 4-5 days

pineapple - average 1 quart per fruit

I do cold pressed with mine

drink daily will feel better

Mine brought one home that a friend gave her. First use was the last one. Her friends husband said that it was worthless I agreed.

UPS just delivered the juicer. Wife is reading the instructions. Must have been 15 parts/attachments/whatever in the box. Apparently this juicing is good for sciatica, which she has a bit of, and all sorts of other ailments. She says I should quit making fun of it. Why is a juiced carrot better than a unjuiced carrot?

But can I make a Margarita with it?

Have to admit that a juiced pineapple sound pretty good.

MARGARITA!!! She announced the other night that this was the summer of the perfect margarita and we would keep trying till we figured it out. I keep telling her we need fresh squeezed lime juice.
603, keep me posted.

She washed all the parts. Now she’s about to juice some carrots and an apple. I might taste the finished product. And I might watch.

2 oz tequila
1 oz triple sec
1 oz fresh lime

Some use a 3 2 1 method...similar to the above.

They are great in theory. Ultimately what happens with devices like juicers, bread machines, pasta maker, ice cream machine, panini maker, etc. is that they will get a bit of use initially, but then go to the back of the cabinet never to be used again. Juicers are a PITA to clean, as well.

She juiced a bunch of carrots and then an apple. She said it tasted Ok, so I took a sip. Not Ok. Then she juiced some celery. I passed on the taste test.

And no way that thing will make a Margarita. So sad.

I think we still have a bread maker put away somewhere. She’ll probably put this with that eventually.

603 I think you deserve a margarita for trying the juice. Then if the juice taste is still there have another one.

As mentioned above, I don't know anyone who uses a juicer after the first few months of getting one.

It would appear that diehard Juicer users need to get other to get juiced to support their own logic in getting one. Some friends constantly sing the praises of juicing veggies, and saying it cured illnesses faster. The wife went for that logic.

Personally, I like tomato juice, but I’ll buy the juice already made.

A friend's wife drank so much carrot juice her palms turned orange. She was using it to naturally fight cancer. She died in her 30s and left him three small children to raise motherless.

Ashton Kutcher played Steve Jobs in a movie. For some reason he ate grapes and drank carrot juice.Wound up in the ER.

I learned about it watching Mila eat hot wings. You could google it if you want to know more.

So tell us if you had a margarita or not. Frozen or on the rocks? Salt and lime?

100% spot on. Have a pantry full of these gadgets we've had to have over the years. Sounds great, but after the "maintenance", they wear off pretty quick.
