I thought so until I vacationed in Hawaii. Got introduced to Spam and egg's with banana pancakes. Pretty tasty stuff... especially after a night of Mai Tai's and Piña Colada's.

This!! My wife has lots of family on Maui, and they know how to eat. Spam is a great complementing item in several of their staple dishes.
Never had Spam. I do like Underwoods deviled ham though.
I've eaten Underwood's Chicken Spread since I was in grade school.
Growing up we used Underwood Deviled Ham to make ham salad sandwiches, we added hard boiled eggs, chopped onions, mustard, diced pickles and either mayo or miracle whip. We also did the same thing with Spam. Any time we had "Real Ham" it was baked in the oven and there was never enough left overs to make anything else with. I thought we ate like kings.
Spam is a completely different thing after you cook it through in a hot skillet. Makes a great sandwich, or a couple of slices with the supper vegetables and such Never tried it on the smoker, but I hear that's really good
I don't know how much I could eat straight out of the can without cooking some of the grease and salt out of it
Fry Spam slices then add some pineapple jelly and Tobasco sauce. Fry it until the jelly carmalizes. Served as a sandwich with toasted bread, sliced tomatoes, lettuce and a quality mustard.

Yeah, that sounds pretty decent Never would have thought about that I wonder if some of that sweetened thai chili sauce would work?

Recipe courtesy of the Grunts of 3rd platoon, C 2/7 1968. Spam and Tabasco were common items sent in care packs from home. The 1st time I saw this it was made by my RTO by using some awful C Rat canned ham. Grape jelly was also used sometimes but we usually saved the pineapple jelly for the Spam. The grape was better for PB&J on the C Rat crackers.

Haven’t eaten spam in probably 40 years until about a month ago. Bought a can and did Spam fried rice. It might have been good with the reduced salt version. The regular was much too salty for me. I ended up throwing most of it out.
I ate so much spam when I was building barns as a teenager, I started to hate it. I started liking it again when I was in my 30's. Slap it on the Foreman grill and it's not bad,
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.
