I’ve been messing with the new pudelpointer puppy some. I like him. Cross Timbers Diesel, I call him “Moon”. Picked him up on Halloween. 11 weeks old today. Precocious little guy and cooperative. 15 weeks old now and coming along nicely. Got him in some wild birds Cricket found a few days ago. I got a good picture of Moon pointing one. This is the same puppy that bit the snot out of me a couple weeks ago. More puppy work on wild birds. The little heathen is putting it together. Chased enough to start to figure out he can’t catch them and starting to try to handle his birds with some caution. Love to see when the influence of the point in a puppy is strong enough to pull the puppy under. Moon is almost 6 months old now. Obedience is firming up. Recall and whoa are getting solid. In my backyard tonight tuning the whoa command. Solid without the e-collar. I hate a collar wise dog so we do some work without the collar. I learned to train a bird dog before the ecollar was a thing. I am out front and Moon is intense.
